Job Summary

We’re seeking a Director of Business Development to join our Southeast team in our Greenville, South Carolina office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional who resides in or around Greenville-Spartanburg and possesses experience in the commercial real estate or construction sector – i.e. commercial real estate brokerage, commercial architecture, commercial property management or direct commercial construction/GC. Candidates without a construction background must have strong experience and demonstrated success in B2B sales.  


The Director of Business Development is responsible for business development projects targeting corporate, financial, retail, hospitality, senior living and healthcare markets. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:  

  • Develop new market initiatives, assess new markets, identify and analyze new business opportunities. Must be able to utilize market data, trends and forecasting to qualify project leads.

  • Identify and analyze competition and recommend teaming strategy.

  • Assist in the bid proposal process: bid proposal coordination, preparation and client presentations. Write, edit and produce proposal documents that are distinctive, highly competitive, fully compliant with RFP requirements and aligned with R-PCI’s brand style guide. 

  • Assess project risks, logistics, contract documents, vendor, subcontractor and competitors to build overall sales strategy.

  • Establish and maintain existing client relationships and contacts, obtain new business and expand current operations.

  • Client networking through customer meetings, industry events and industry associations.

  • Track and update opportunities using CRM platform, Salesforce. 




  • Minimum 8 – 10 years of experience in business development, preferably with a construction related professional services firm or other B2B sales.

  • Candidate must have a BA or BS.

  • Strong communication skills and competence in Microsoft Office Suite of Products, CRM (i.e. Salesforce or equivalent).

  • Travel as needed/expected.

  • Exceptional presentation skills.
